10PM Thoughts

It’s 10:00PM here in the Philippines, and as much as I’d like to say it’s a peaceful evening, it’s not. In the background, I hear the siren in our barangay announcing that curfew has taken place (I’m not sure why because as far as I know, we no longer have curfew), some dogs barking outside, my nephews running up to their rooms, and my dog, Beefy, snoring like a grown man with a lot of pent-up stress.

30th Birthday Quarantine Celebration

I didn’t imagine that we’d still be in quarantine on my birthday. Back in March, when we were told that we’d be in community lockdown for 30 days, I thought, okay. 30 days doesn’t sound bad at all. But 165 days later, things are just getting worse.

I can’t bring myself to be sad, because I am still grateful for everything I have now. We have food on the table, roof over our heads, and I’m with my family who are all safe and healthy. I could not ask for more, really.

So I was just expecting a chill, work-free day.

Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory

I’ve tried Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory’s biscuits and soft serve, but I haven’t tried their fluffy pancakes. So when I needed to go to the grocery, I decided to do it at Unimart, Capitol Commons, so we could go to Estancia after.

Took us a while to find it but was pleased to see very few people dining in. I think only two tables were occupied.

Gram Cafe & Pancakes

One day, I realized that I needed a personal laptop. So my boyfriend and I decided to go to SM Megamall to check if they still have my preferred laptop in stock.

Went to the store, saw the long line, and asked. Unfortunately, no more stock. So we just decided to eat some fluffy pancakes from Gram & Pancakes.

 

I Miss: Tambai and Wantusawa

One of things I used to enjoy before COVID19 happened is eating out with friends and family. It brings me joy eating good food and sharing it with people close to me.

To drink or not to drink is no question.

My officemate and I waited for this date to visit Kermit Manila in Makati. She shared that they are from Siargao, originally. I asked, “Why Kermit Manila? Bakit hindi Kermit Makati?” Kind of sounds dumb, but I really want to know.

Even though it sounds insane, the heat in the Philippines has reached its peak temperature thus going out for lunch is a drab.

But living in a tropical country, we know how to cope with delicious, cooling desserts!
